Our Cacao

The medicine begins with the bean

Ceremonial grade cacao is not chocolate. It is cacao in its most complete, most living form — minimally processed, organically grown and prepared with the intention of preserving everything the plant has to offer.

Our cacao is made from Criollo beans — one of the rarest and most prized varieties on the planet, representing just three to five percent of global cacao production. Mama Cacao grows slowly, in mixed cultures, without the bitterness or acidity of mass-market cacao. It is delicate, complex and extraordinarily rich in the compounds that make ceremonial cacao so effective: theobromine, magnesium, anandamide, iron and a full spectrum of antioxidants.

No sugar is added. No shortcuts are taken.

The beans are sourced directly from small family farms and cooperatives in Latin America — grown in harmony with the land, harvested by hand when ripe and dried slowly using solar heat, shielded from direct sunlight to preserve their natural complexity and reduce acidity.

We buy directly from the producers. No commercially focused middlemen. We know the people, the land and the conditions behind every batch. That transparency is not a marketing choice — it is a commitment to the communities whose knowledge and care made this medicine possible.

When you drink Mama Cacao, you are drinking one of the most traceable, most intentional and most nourishing plant foods available today.

"This relationship with the source is sustained through our work with Chakana Project — a Swiss non-profit association dedicated to building living bridges between indigenous Amazonian communities and the western world. Through Chakana, our connection to the Shipibo and other native peoples of the Peruvian Amazon is not transactional. It is ongoing, reciprocal and rooted in genuine respect for the knowledge these communities carry."

When you drink Mama Cacao, you are participating in that relationship.

Not all ceremonial cacao is the same. Here's why it matters.

Our vision

A new relationship between ancient wisdom and modern life.

Mama Cacao exists at a threshold — between the forest and the city, between ancestral practice and contemporary science, between the personal and the collective.

Our vision is to make ceremonial cacao a living part of daily life in Zürich and beyond. Not as a trend. Not as a supplement. But as a genuine practice — a way of relating to your body, your community and the intelligence of the natural world with more depth and more intention.

We are building a community of people who understand that performance, presence and longevity are not separate from how we nourish ourselves and how we gather. That the most advanced tool for human optimization is sometimes the oldest one.

Concretely, this means:

— Holding regular ceremonies, sound experiences and movement rituals in Zürich that create real transformation — not entertainment.

— Sourcing and distributing ceremonial grade Criollo cacao that supports native farming communities in the Peruvian Amazon through transparent, direct trade — sustained through our active collaboration with Chakana Project, a Swiss non-profit dedicated to protecting the knowledge and land of the indigenous Shipibo communities of the Amazon.

— Educating and inspiring a Swiss community that is already deeply health-conscious but largely unaware of how far cacao surpasses conventional stimulants in quality, sustainability and depth of effect.

— Extending the Mama Cacao experience beyond the ceremony — into organizations, studios and daily life — through immersive sound, movement and sensory experiences developed together with Dharma Collective.

— Growing as a living reference point for everyone interested in conscious nutrition, longevity, emotional health and the sacred.

Mama Cacao is built on a foundation that spans three continents and three disciplines — the ancestral knowledge of the Peruvian Amazon, twenty years of cultural production and sound science, and the living community of Zürich. Every cup connects all of it.

The person behind the practice.

Angel Agustín Jacky — Founder

Angel grew up in Argentina with a deep curiosity about native Andean cultures and an early intuition that plants carried intelligence worth listening to. That curiosity led him to his first plant medicine ceremonies as a young man, and to years of study and practice in meditation, breathwork, Reiki and the healing traditions of the Andes and the Peruvian Amazon.

In parallel, music became his other language. He trained in music therapy and developed his practice as a producer and live act — weaving native voices, organic textures, analog synthesis and deep rhythm into sonic environments designed for transformation. That work became JKSON: a practice of sound as ceremony, architecture and integration.

Mama Cacao emerged from the intersection of all of it. A love for cacao that began as a personal liberation — ceremonial cacao helped Angel break a lifelong sugar addiction and opened a relationship with a plant he had never experienced so directly. Combined with his background in cultural production, community building and ceremonial facilitation, that personal shift became a vision: to create a space in Zürich where this medicine, this music and this community could grow together.

Today Angel leads Mama Cacao as a founder, facilitator and host — bringing the same intentionality to every ceremony that he brings to every performance. Curious by nature. Precise by practice. Always present.
